US F/A-18 Hornet Fighter Jet Crashes in Washington State, Pilot Ejects Safely
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, an F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet crashed in the state of Washington, as reported by Mehr News Agency citing RIA Novosti. The 11th Air Group, affiliated with the U.S. Marine Corps, confirmed the aircraft type involved in the incident.
NBC reported that the incident occurred with a fighter jet deployed from the Miramar Marine Corps Air Station in California.
The fighter jet was reportedly engaged in a training flight when it went down in the highlands of Washington State. Simultaneously, a fire broke out in the nearby forests, but the pilot managed to eject safely from the aircraft.
U.S. officials have stated that the investigation into the cause of the fighter jet’s crash could take several months to complete.
