Trump Threatens Iranian Negotiators with Hostage-Taking Amid Strait of Hormuz Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, as reported by Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday repeated his baseless and threatening rhetoric, stemming from desperation following military setbacks against Tehran. He claimed that if Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz, its country will be destroyed.
In an interview with Fox News today, the U.S. President outlined the rationale behind his regional interventions, stating, “The United States can become the guardian angel of the Strait of Hormuz and seize 20% of the oil. If necessary, we may take control of the Strait of Hormuz! If we do not reach an agreement with Iran, we will impose transit fees on the Strait of Hormuz.”
Violating international laws regarding diplomatic immunity, he threatened, “If Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian negotiators will not be able to return home.”
Donald Trump further added, “Hamas is not creating significant problems in Gaza at the moment, and the focus should be on reaching an agreement with Iran.”
