Azerbaijan President Aliyev Accuses Western Circles, EU Institutions of Promoting Islamophobia

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has stated that certain Western political circles and European institutions are actively promoting anti-Islamic discourse. He made these remarks in a message to participants of the 20th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states in Baku.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has declared that some Western political circles and European institutions, including the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, are propagating anti-Islamic discourse. The announcement was made in a message delivered to the attendees of the 20th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC member states held in Baku.

President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s 35-year membership in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to the organization’s objectives and principles, as well as its dedication to fostering cooperation with fellow member states.

Furthermore, Aliyev expressed gratitude to the OIC for its consistent support of Azerbaijan’s positions in its dispute with Armenia. He noted that the organization has consistently backed Baku’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
