Jordanian Analyst: Israel Would Not Have Entered Iran War Knowing Its Outcomes

A prominent Jordanian political analyst has asserted that the agreement between Iran and the United States marks a significant shift in the post-war power balance, with Tehran emerging from the conflict with greater strategic gains than Washington and Tel Aviv.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency and cited by Al Jazeera, Jordanian analyst Areeb Al-Rantawi emphasized that the agreement between Iran and the United States is a turning point in the post-war power equation. He stated that Tehran emerged from this war with more political and strategic achievements than what the United States and Israel accomplished.

Al-Rantawi added that the aforementioned agreement largely accedes to Iran’s demands and solidifies the principle of phased negotiations. This agreement emphasizes Iran’s right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, with its enriched uranium reserves remaining on Iranian soil. Furthermore, there was no mention of Iran’s missile programs, and the issue of Lebanon has been linked to regional agreements. Guarantees regarding the lifting of sanctions against Iran and the gradual release of frozen assets have also been provided.

Al-Rantawi noted that the United States and Israel did not achieve their previously declared objectives in the war against Iran, which included regime change, ending nuclear and missile programs, and weakening Iran’s regional allies. Israeli officials have admitted that they would not have entered this war had they known its eventual outcomes would be as they are. Israel emerged from this conflict more isolated and weaker than before, and the confidence of America’s Arab allies in its security umbrella has diminished.
