Indian Prime Minister Modi Discusses Strait of Hormuz Security with Iranian President

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Tuesday that he spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian regarding recent developments in West Asia. During a phone conversation, Modi highlighted the significance of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz for India and the world.
In a post on social media platform X, the Indian Prime Minister stated, “Spoke with President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian. We discussed recent developments in West Asia. Welcomed the progress made in the talks and expressed hope that the ongoing efforts will lead to lasting peace in the region.”
Modi further elaborated on the call, noting, “I emphasized the importance of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz for India and the world.”
Iran had previously indicated its readiness to guarantee shipping security in the Strait of Hormuz, provided a lasting ceasefire and cessation of hostilities are achieved, adhering to necessary security protocols and considerations.
