Former Russian Ambassador Praises Ayatollah Khamenei’s Leadership and Iran’s Resilience

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Alexander Mariasov, the former Russian ambassador to Iran, has shared insights into the leadership of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a recent interview. His statements, published by the Mehr News Agency, underscored the strength and adaptability of Iran’s governing structure.
Mariasov stated, “I believe the martyred leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, created a very powerful structure for managing the country that has been able to withstand the most serious challenges and threats.” He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran has remained steadfast and demonstrated considerable stability despite sanctions and difficult socio-economic conditions. He noted that even Russia, when faced with its own sanctions, sought to utilize some of Iran’s experiences and models to improve its economic situation.
“Therefore, in my opinion, his flexibility, sacrifice, and decisiveness over more than 40 years of leading the country have played a decisive role,” Mariasov added. “He managed the country with intelligence and precision, and created a political system that is multi-layered, cohesive, and deeply organized, comprising a set of institutions that complement each other.”
The former ambassador also pointed to the democratic elements within this structure, including parliamentary elections, presidential elections, and city council elections. “This collection, together, has created a relatively robust structure for managing the country.”
He concluded by asserting the enduring strength of this system, stating, “This structure did not collapse in the face of Saddam’s army’s attack in the past, nor has it collapsed under current conditions. I think, in the end, Iranians will emerge victorious from this war.”
