Le Monde Reports Massive Turnout for Second Day of Supreme Leader’s Funeral

French newspaper Le Monde detailed the second day of funeral ceremonies for Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, noting a massive gathering of mourners at Tehran’s Grand Musalla. The event, marked by prayers for the leader and his family, saw immense public participation despite high temperatures.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French newspaper Le Monde has reported on the second day of the grand farewell ceremony for Iran‘s martyred leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei. The report stated that the ceremonies commenced with prayers for the martyred leader and members of his family.

The French publication noted that a vast multitude of mourners converged for the second consecutive day at the Imam Khomeini Grand Musalla to pay their respects to Iran’s martyred leader. Le Monde described the atmosphere, stating that the expansive Musalla complex and its surrounding streets were filled from Sunday morning with mourners attending the funeral procession.

Addressing the management of the event, Le Monde highlighted that in anticipation of temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius, beverages were distributed among the mourners who were proceeding towards the Musalla, carrying Iranian flags and images of the martyred leader. Additional facilities were also provided.

The newspaper also referenced the estimates of Iranian officials, indicating an expectation of over 10 million attendees for the funeral procession in Tehran.

Le Monde’s report further touched upon the international reception of the farewell ceremony for the martyred leader, suggesting that the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is being viewed internationally as a test of support for the system.
