Egypt Football Coach Denounces Palestine Situation as Global Disgrace

Hossam Hassan, the head coach of Egypt’s national football team, has voiced strong solidarity with the Palestinian people, condemning the ongoing events in Palestine as a stain on humanity and criticizing perceived double standards by Western nations.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency,

Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national football team, has declared that the current situation in Palestine is a disgrace to the world and humanity. Speaking at a press conference prior to his team’s match against Argentina in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, Hassan expressed his empathy for the Palestinian people, stating, “Anyone who does not feel the suffering of the Palestinian people is not human.”

Hassan highlighted the dire humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, noting that Palestinians are living in open spaces and tents, facing the most severe circumstances. “It is a shame for all of us that these people are left alone in such conditions,” he added. The coach described the martyrdom of thousands of children and women as deeply painful, pointing to widespread shortages of food, prevalence of diseases, and hardships stemming from the weather, indicating an unending cycle of human suffering.

Criticizing what he termed “double standards” in the West, Hassan drew a stark contrast: “In America, when an animal dies, animal rights campaigns are launched, and the slogan of defending animal rights is raised. But Palestinians are killed, and no one pays any attention to what is happening.”

He appealed to the international community to allow the Palestinian people to live in peace, emphasizing, “Please let the Palestinian people live in peace and tranquility. Raising the Palestinian flag is a message of support for this nation and the realization of their rights.”

The Egyptian coach also urged global decision-makers to empathize with the Palestinian people: “I hope that everyone who makes a decision imagines themselves in the place of these people for just one day to understand the extent of their suffering and hardships.”

Utilizing the platform of the World Cup, the world’s largest sporting event, Hassan concluded, “My message is, above all, one of humanity. Through football and the World Cup, I hope this message reaches everyone: let the Palestinian people live. We are only seeking a simple slogan: ‘Let humans live.'”
