Global Oil Prices Surge 5% Amidst Trump’s Hostile Remarks on Iran Deal

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, global oil prices surged by 5% after U.S. President Donald Trump made hostile remarks regarding the end of a memorandum of understanding with Iran. Reuters reported that the sudden jump in oil prices followed Trump’s explicit statement in Ankara that he no longer wishes to engage with Iran.
President Trump, who has consistently obstructed and acted aggressively against Iran during negotiations, reiterated his disparaging rhetoric against Iranian officials, a practice he has normalized despite international discourse. He claimed that the U.S. memorandum of understanding with Iran has concluded.
The price of oil had already risen by 3% last night after the U.S. military conducted several strikes on southern regions of Iran. Prior to that, global oil prices had also increased by approximately 3% concurrently with the U.S. revoking permission for Iran’s oil sales.
