Karbala and Muthanna Provinces Announce Holiday for Supreme Leader’s Funeral

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Karbala and Muthanna provinces have declared a public holiday for Thursday, November 7, 2026, to facilitate public participation in the funeral ceremonies for Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This decision comes as millions continue to gather in the province to welcome and attend the procession.
Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, the Governor of Karbala, announced the official holiday through a statement, citing the ongoing massive presence in the province for the reception and participation in the funeral rites of the revered leader. Similarly, Muhannad Al-Atabi, the Governor of Muthanna, issued a separate statement confirming the official holiday in his province. He emphasized that this measure is intended to provide an opportunity for the citizens of Muthanna to join the funeral procession of Ayatollah Khamenei, which is scheduled to take place in the province of Karbala.
