Iran’s Ground Forces Commander Details Counter-Terrorism Operations and Strategic Readiness

Commander of the IRGC Ground Force, Major General Mohammad Karami, has detailed the force’s successful preemptive operations against separatist terrorist groups and outlined the strategic vision instilled by the Supreme Leader in enhancing the nation’s defense capabilities.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Major General Mohammad Karami, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Force, provided an in-depth account of the force’s actions during the recent ‘Ramadan War’ in an interview with the news channel. He elaborated on the enemy’s strategic planning to utilize separatist terrorist factions.

General Karami stated that the American-Zionist enemy had fully prepared terrorist groups in Iran’s southeast and northwest for attacks. He emphasized that the IRGC and the Army, working in unison, launched preemptive strikes against the positions of these groups. The Commander highlighted the crucial role of the Supreme Leader’s guidance in advancing the country’s defense capabilities, noting His profound understanding of defense and military matters and His consistent emphasis on scientific development and the adoption of new technologies in the armed forces. He recalled the Supreme Leader’s pronouncements that future wars would be wars of technology, a principle that guided the trajectory of the armed forces.

General Karami further underscored the Supreme Leader’s constant call for the armed forces to be prepared for rapid responses to any threat. He mentioned that following the ’12-day war,’ necessary adjustments were made under the Supreme Leader’s direction to counter future threats and bolster national defense power. The outcomes of these preparations were evident during the Ramadan War, where, despite the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader and commanders, the armed forces delivered a decisive and effective response to the enemy in a short period. This success was attributed to meticulous planning, cohesive execution, and the full implementation of the Supreme Leader’s directives by martyred commanders and the armed forces.

He also lauded the martyred Commander Sardar Mohammad Pakpour, describing him as possessing a high capacity for operational design. Prior to the Ramadan War, Sardar Pakpour had prepared forces for various scenarios through extensive drills and war games, dedicating his efforts day and night to enhancing the country’s missile, drone, and security capabilities. General Karami noted that Martyr Pakpour was instrumental in securing border regions, serving as a key architect of sustainable security in the northwest and southeast of the country, leaving a lasting legacy in these areas. He recalled that the Supreme Leader had also praised Martyr Pakpour’s actions and urged for their continuation and expansion.

General Karami observed that some adversaries were under the illusion that their designs would spell the end for the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly in the initial days of the conflict. However, he stated that, by the grace of God and thanks to the Supreme Leader’s foresight, all these plans were thwarted. He reiterated that the Supreme Leader had made precise predictions about enemy scenarios, understanding their potential capacities and strategies for any aggression. These accurate predictions played a significant role in neutralizing enemy plots.

The Commander of the IRGC Ground Force added that the Supreme Leader had declared that if the enemy attacked, the nation would rise. He described the events during the recent imposed war as a realization of this prophecy, calling the public’s presence a divine miracle that provided doubled strength and resolve to the IRGC ground forces defending the nation’s borders. He highlighted the public’s support in operational areas, particularly in the northwest and southeast, where many garrisons and centers were bombed, yet the people stood by the armed forces, offering their homes and resources. This, he noted, was another manifestation of divine favor. Even in islands and areas facing resource shortages, the public provided full support, significantly boosting the morale of the forces.

General Karami stressed the importance of national unity in recent victories, stating that the public’s presence alongside the armed forces fostered cohesion and unity, earning divine favor and victory for the Iranian nation. He emphasized the critical need to preserve this unity and cohesion, identifying it as a primary reason for the enemy’s defeat. He cautioned that the enemy is actively working to disrupt these strong ranks and create rifts between the Iranian people and their armed forces. The Supreme Leader, he recalled, repeatedly stressed the importance of unity, which, according to divine promises, brings numerous blessings and is a key factor in the country’s triumphs.

Regarding the resilience of the combatants during enemy attacks, General Karami noted the absence of fear or retreat among them despite heavy bombardments, even in islands frequently targeted. He recounted an incident where one island was hit by 270 missiles in a single night, yet the forces remained steadfast in their positions with courage and exemplary morale. He shared an anecdote about a Basij member who stated that Islam was more important than his life and that their only mission was to obey divine commands, a spirit that he deemed invaluable as it drove combatants to seek only divine satisfaction rather than praise or reward, thus leading to the enemy’s defeat.

In response to a question about the IRGC Ground Force’s readiness against border threats, General Karami confirmed that necessary plans and extensive measures have been implemented. He reiterated the Supreme Leader’s emphasis on strengthening a monotheistic outlook within the armed forces, a principle consistently promoted since before the revolution. He explained that the Supreme Leader always advised combatants to possess strong faith, reliance on God, skill, creativity, and innovation, asserting that a combatant’s faith multiplies their ability to utilize resources. General Karami noted the enemy’s current focus on hybrid warfare, seeking to sow discord between the Iranian people and the Islamic Ummah through economic, cultural, social, and infiltration tactics after military failures. He urged the public to remain vigilant, echoing the Supreme Leader’s message that the nation is approaching its goals and must maintain cohesion to achieve divine satisfaction. He concluded by affirming the unwavering commitment to Islam, expressing certainty that Iran’s destiny is guided by divine providence and promising steadfast resistance with no fear of the enemy, as they possess the highest power when God is with them.
