Pakistan PM, Iranian President Discuss Regional Stability, Urge Restraint

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian over the phone, stressing the necessity of restoring peace and stability in the region. Both leaders urged all parties to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could jeopardize the peace achieved in recent months.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the importance of adhering to commitments outlined in memorandums of understanding. He also took to social media platform X to detail the call, stating, “Today, I spoke with my brother, the President of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian. We discussed the current regional developments and emphasized the need for restraint, dialogue, and diplomacy to preserve the valuable peaceful achievements gained in recent months.”
Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to continue its role as a sincere and impartial mediator for lasting peace in the region. The two leaders also agreed to advance the agenda for bilateral cooperation, which was settled during President Pezeshkian’s recent visit to Islamabad.
