Israeli Author Warns of Regime’s Imminent Collapse Amidst Institutional Breakdown

An Israeli writer has issued a stark warning, asserting that the current policies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government are pushing the Israeli regime towards the collapse of its security and political institutions. The author likens the government’s dire state to a patient in critical condition requiring intensive care.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Avi Ashkenazi, an Israeli writer, published an article in the Hebrew-language newspaper ‘Maariv’ stating that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has lost control. He warned that the current cabinet’s policies are steering the Israeli regime toward the disintegration of its security and political institutions.

Ashkenazi observed that the developments in the occupied territories are nothing short of a process of destroying the cabinet’s foundations, a lack of security, and an erosion of values. He metaphorically suggested that if the Israeli cabinet were a human, its severely deteriorated physical condition would necessitate immediate transfer to the intensive care unit of a top hospital.

The writer believes that the Israeli cabinet is disregarding the foundational pillars of Israeli governance, including the army, security agencies, the judiciary, and the media. The article highlighted controversial issues, such as granting exemptions from mandatory military service to students of Talmudic schools, despite warnings from the Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, about the potential consequences for the army. Another contentious case mentioned involves the military personnel involved in the killing of martyr Abdul Fattah Al-Sharif in Hebron, where a figure named Oliver Azaria is reportedly being considered for a pardon and expungement of his criminal record, despite not accepting responsibility or expressing remorse for the act.

Furthermore, the author pointed to ‘chaos’ in the management of security affairs, criticizing Transportation Minister Miri Regev’s decision to prohibit American refueling planes from landing at Ben Gurion Airport. He also noted internal cabinet disputes over the budget for the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers, emphasizing that these disagreements are escalating while Tel Aviv is engaged in conflict on multiple fronts.

Ashkenazi concluded his article with a warning that the Israeli regime is experiencing an unprecedented period of security and moral decline.
