US Defense Secretary Claims Iranian Control Over Strait of Hormuz
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has asserted that Iran exercises control over the Strait of Hormuz, issuing a statement following U.S. military operations in the Persian Gulf. Central Command released footage of U.S. Marines boarding a vessel in the Gulf of Oman.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin claimed that Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz. On Friday morning, Austin published a one-line message on the social media platform X, accompanied by images of U.S. military personnel boarding a ship in the Gulf of Oman. These images were previously released by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
CENTCOM reported that U.S. Marines conducted an inspection and verification operation on the oil tanker MT Wand Yao in the Gulf of Oman on July 16 (Tir 25).
