China Denies US Election Interference Claims by Trump

Beijing has vehemently denied accusations made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Chinese interference in American elections, labeling the claims as fabricated.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Beijing has responded to claims by U.S. President Donald Trump alleging Chinese interference in American elections. The Chinese government has condemned Trump’s accusations, calling them ‘fabricated’.

This reaction follows a recent speech by Donald Trump, in which he asserted that China had unlawfully accessed the data of 220 million American voters, including names, contact information, party affiliations, and ‘other sensitive data’.

The U.S. President further alleged that China had attempted to ‘undermine my first administration and our 2020 election campaign’. He also claimed that Beijing took actions to influence the 2018 midterm elections, a period during which Democrats gained control of the House of Representatives.

Trump also accused China of leveraging its connections with American companies to turn them ‘against me’ and to ‘identify American journalists… to write more negative stories about me’.

These statements from Trump emerged two months after his visit to China for a meeting with its leader, Xi Jinping.
