Maritime Incident Reported Off Southern Yemen Coast; Vessel Boarded Near Mukalla

The UK Maritime Trade Operations agency has reported a maritime incident off the southern coast of Yemen, where an unknown number of individuals boarded a vessel transiting the eastern Gulf of Aden, with some reports suggesting Houthi forces have taken control of the ship.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency has reported receiving a notification of a maritime incident occurring approximately 65 nautical miles south of the city of Mukalla in Yemen, citing data published by Mehr News Agency in reference to Al Jazeera.

According to the report from the British entity, unknown individuals boarded a vessel without authorization while it was passing through the eastern part of the Gulf of Aden.

The UKMTO has advised all vessels to exercise caution when transiting the area and to report any suspicious activities to the agency.

Some news sources have stated that forces from Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement have taken control of this vessel.
