Five Oil Tankers Divert Course in Red Sea Amidst Escalating Tensions, Pressuring U.S. Military

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, five oil tankers have changed course in the Red Sea to avoid the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, as reported by Reuters, citing shipping data obtained from Al Jazeera. Three oil tankers bound for China and India reportedly turned back from the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on Tuesday.

A maritime security source added that one oil tanker issued an emergency distress call following a missile impact in the Red Sea on Wednesday evening.

Citing American officials, Reuters further stated that the threats from Yemen to impose a blockade at Bab el-Mandeb could expand the scope of the conflict and place the United States military under significant pressure.
