Over 2,300 Settlers Storm Al-Aqsa Mosque Complex Amidst Heightened Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Islamic Waqf Department of Jerusalem reported that over 2,300 extremist Zionist settlers have breached the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex. This incursion occurred simultaneously with the purported occasion of the “Temple Destruction Anniversary,” as stated by the Palestinian Information Center, referencing reports from the Mehr News Agency.

The Governorate of Holy Jerusalem had initially estimated the number of encroaching settlers to be over 1,300. However, with the continuous arrival of new groups, this figure escalated to more than 2,300 Zionist settlers.

Israeli police permitted each settler group to comprise approximately 150 individuals, thereby facilitating a higher number of participants in these incursions.

Occupation forces implemented stringent security measures at the entrances to Al-Aqsa Mosque and throughout the old city of Jerusalem, with a significant deployment of personnel within the mosque’s courtyards. They also prevented Palestinian worshipers from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

A limited number of worshippers were able to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque for morning prayers. Following this, occupation forces reportedly assaulted several citizens and worshippers.

During their intrusions, Zionist settlers continued to perform Talmudic rituals. These actions included wearing religious phylacteries, performing what was described as a “heroic prostration” in the eastern section of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and loudly reciting hymns.

Extremist Zionist groups, referred to as “Temple” movements, are actively mobilizing their supporters to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque, aiming to increase today’s incursion numbers to 5,000.

Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Israeli regime’s Minister of Internal Security, participated in this breach of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Amit Halevy, a Likud party representative in the Israeli Knesset, was also among those who infiltrated the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In an unprecedented and dangerous move, occupation regime forces installed a canopy for the encroaching settlers within the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Zionist settlers, in a provocative act, desecrated the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards and hoisted the Zionist occupation regime’s flag in front of the Dome of the Rock.
