Iran’s IRGC Claims Destroying US Drones, Patriot System at Kuwait Airbase
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has issued a statement, identified as Announcement No. 44, detailing alleged attacks against U.S. military assets. The IRGC claims that in response to what it terms American “child-killer army” actions and interventions in the Strait of Hormuz, its forces conducted a drone strike on Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait. The statement asserts that this operation resulted in the destruction of a large cache of military equipment, a Patriot air defense system, and hangars housing MQ9 drones.
Furthermore, the IRGC claims to have attacked the living quarters of American forces and two helicopter hangars at Al-Adairi military camp. According to the statement, these actions led to the killing and wounding of several American personnel and caused significant damage to multiple helicopters and drones. In retaliation for alleged U.S. attacks on telecommunication towers in Iran, the IRGC also stated it targeted a telecommunication tower.
The IRGC’s statement addressed the notion that Iran’s actions violate the sovereignty of other nations, asserting that such a judgment is incorrect. It emphasized that Iran respects the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of other governments. The statement questioned the nature of American military bases in other countries, describing them as areas where foreigners can enter and exit without border control, with U.S. military police enforcing discipline, U.S. judges ruling on crimes, and U.S. law prevailing. It argued that these bases undermine the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the host nations, asserting that Iran targets areas occupied by the U.S. military, which it characterizes as an army engaged only in perpetrating crimes.
The IRGC statement also referenced a recent event in Minab, Iran, where mourning residents reportedly buried the remains of 168 schoolchildren who were allegedly killed in an attack by the U.S. military on the first day of the current conflict. The IRGC claimed these ongoing atrocities are partly facilitated by U.S. bases in Kuwait, and therefore, Iran has a legitimate right to target aggressors and those responsible for killing its children from wherever such attacks originate. The statement concluded by thanking the people of Kuwait for their cooperation and invoked divine assistance, stating, “Victory comes only from God, the Almighty, the Wise.”.
