US Senate Rejects Resolution Limiting Trump’s War Powers Against Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States Senate has rejected a resolution from the House of Representatives intended to restrict President Donald Trump’s powers regarding the initiation of war against Iran. This decision follows a vote by the House of Representatives earlier on Thursday to limit the US President’s authority to launch military action against Iran without the explicit consent of Congress.

This move, considered the latest rebuke from the House of Representatives concerning President Trump’s handling of potential conflict with Iran, was introduced by Representative Pramila Jayapal, a Democrat. CNN reported that four Republican representatives also supported the Democrats in approving the measure. The resolution had passed the House with a majority of 214 votes in favor and 208 votes against.
