Military Expert: US Ground Operation Against Iranian Islands Highly Unlikely

Amid escalating tensions, a military analyst has dismissed the possibility of a U.S. ground operation against Iran’s strategic islands, citing significant geographical challenges for any invading force.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, amidst rising tensions between Iran and the United States, some analysts have suggested the potential for a U.S. ground operation targeting the islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Kharg. Reports from Al Jazeera, citing its correspondent in Tehran, indicated that military assessments suggest a possibility of the U.S. attempting a ground operation in these areas. Iran has reportedly responded by reinforcing its troop deployments on these islands.

However, military expert Nidal Abuzayd has characterized this scenario as unlikely. He emphasized that Iran’s mountainous geography and extensive borders would present serious difficulties for any invading forces attempting a ground operation.
