Iran’s Diplomat Highlights JCPOA’s Importance Amidst Stalled Negotiations

According to the Economic Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ali Bagheri Kani, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, stated that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) holds significant importance in the international arena and that Iran is prepared for constructive discussions regarding its revival.
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Bagheri Kani highlighted Iran’s consistent diplomatic efforts aimed at securing a mutually agreeable outcome for the restoration of the JCPOA. He reiterated that Tehran remains committed to engagement and dialogue to overcome the existing obstacles, asserting that the foundation for any progress lies in the commitments outlined in the original agreement.
The senior diplomat underscored Iran’s position that the current impasse is a result of unilateral actions and a lack of adherence to commitments by certain parties. He expressed hope that international partners would adopt a more pragmatic and constructive approach, allowing for the full implementation of the JCPOA. Bagheri Kani’s remarks come amidst ongoing efforts to find a pathway back to the landmark nuclear deal, which has faced significant challenges since the United States withdrew in 2018.
Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and that its demands for sanctions relief and guarantees are legitimate. The Deputy Foreign Minister’s statements signal Tehran’s continued willingness to engage in diplomatic processes while firmly adhering to its stated principles regarding the nuclear deal and international relations.
