US Officials Express Concern Over Arms Stockpiles Amid Trump’s Iran Stance

U.S. officials, including Vice President JD Vance and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Crain, voiced concerns about American arms reserves during a White House meeting on Friday, as President Donald Trump reiterated his preference for political solutions with Iran while keeping all options on the table.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, CNN, citing U.S. officials, reported that Vice President JD Vance and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Crain expressed concerns regarding the status of U.S. arms stockpiles during a White House meeting on Friday, confronting President Donald Trump.

During the meeting, Trump reportedly claimed to prefer a political solution concerning Iran, while simultaneously stating that all options remained on the table.

The Trump administration evaluated the repercussions of any escalation of tensions with Iran throughout Friday afternoon. Arab states of the Persian Gulf, in their consultations with Trump administration officials, also urged restraint.

The report indicated that Trump had secretly urged U.S. negotiators to continue discussions, while publicly announcing that he was considering a comprehensive attack option against Iran.

Within Trump’s inner circle and among elements within the Pentagon, only a small number believe that escalating tensions would lead to desirable outcomes.
