Pakistan Foreign Minister and IAEA Chief Discuss Regional Developments

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to the United Nations and effective multilateralism during a phone call with IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi. The discussion also covered regional dynamics and the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement for peace and stability.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Pakistan‘s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on Sunday reiterated his country’s firm support for the United Nations and effective multilateralism. He conveyed these views during a telephone conversation with Rafael Mariano Grossi, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

During their discussion, both sides exchanged views on the latest regional developments. They emphasized the significance of continuing diplomacy, dialogue, and constructive engagement to advance regional and international peace and stability.

The IAEA Director-General expressed hope that parties would sustain dialogue and engagement following the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding” (between Tehran and Washington) to achieve a peaceful and lasting outcome. Grossi also informed the Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister about his candidacy for the position of United Nations Secretary-General.
