US Admits Lagging Significantly Behind Rivals in Drone Production

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a Pentagon official overseeing the development of American drone programs has admitted that Washington is still in the very difficult early stages of its efforts to catch up in drone production.

Travis Metz, head of a Pentagon division, stated that the U.S. is severely lagging behind its rivals in the manufacturing of drones. The Pentagon’s program, with a budget exceeding $1 billion, is projected to only cover 200,000 UAVs by February 2027.

Earlier in February, a Pentagon plan was revealed that aims to create substantial reserves of several thousand suicide drones by 2027. Twenty-five specialized companies, including two from Ukraine, are participating in this initiative.
