Israeli Airstrike Destroys Medical Warehouse in Central Gaza

Israeli fighter jets targeted a medical warehouse near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza, causing extensive damage to the facility and adjacent tents sheltering displaced Palestinians. The strike exacerbates the dire medical supply shortage in the besieged enclave.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, eyewitnesses reported that Israeli fighter jets attacked a medical warehouse in central Gaza on Saturday morning, destroying the facility and causing significant damage to nearby tents accommodating displaced Palestinians. The Israeli military reportedly struck the warehouse adjacent to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, completely obliterating vital medical supplies and setting fire to dozens of tents pitched in its vicinity.

Witnesses stated that the attack induced panic among patients, the displaced, and residents living around the hospital. This incident occurs as Gaza’s health sector continues to grapple with an Israeli blockade and severe shortages of medicines and medical equipment. Stringent restrictions on the import of these essential items have further weakened hospitals’ capacity to meet the needs of patients and the injured.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed on Friday that an agreement had been reached for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza, with Israeli forces set to withdraw incrementally as this process progresses. Despite a ceasefire that took effect last October, Israel has continued its daily attacks across Gaza, resulting in the deaths of 1,209 Palestinians and injuries to 3,943 others, predominantly women and children, alongside widespread destruction.

The Israeli regime, with American backing, initiated a campaign in Gaza on October 8, 2023, which has led to the deaths of over 73,000 Palestinians and injured more than 174,000, the majority being women and children. This campaign has also resulted in the destruction of approximately 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure.
