Yemen Urges Saudi Arabia to Commit to Peace Efforts and Lift Blockade

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yemen‘s Parliament, affiliated with the Houthi movement, has addressed Saudi Arabia, stating that Yemen is closer to the Kingdom than other alliances. They urged Saudi Arabia to approach serious peace efforts with a rational outlook and fulfill all its commitments.

Yemeni representatives emphasized that regional security is intertwined and that Yemen is considered the closest country to Saudi Arabia geographically and historically, making an agreement with Yemen a secure option.

Mohammed Abdulsalam, head of Sana’a’s negotiating delegation, stated previously that Saudi Arabia must understand that the closest route to achieving security lies in ending the war and completely lifting the blockade on Yemen.

He added that the Saudi regime must accept full responsibility for the consequences of the war and the ongoing siege against Yemen.

In response to Saudi attacks and as part of a policy of blockade for blockade, Yemen’s armed forces have imposed a ban on the movement of Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea. This action in July reportedly caused eight ships to be rerouted.
