Saudi Arabia Pursues Diplomatic Channels with Yemen Amidst Escalating Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabia is undertaking diplomatic initiatives via Oman to prevent further escalation of conflict with Yemen’s Ansar Allah, as reported by Bloomberg, citing its sources. Concurrently, the Kingdom is reportedly preparing for a potential military confrontation should these diplomatic overtures prove unsuccessful.
Bloomberg further indicated that the United States has advised Saudi Arabia against retaliatory actions, fearing that heightened hostilities could lead to further disruptions in global shipping and energy markets. Such a scenario might also see the Bab el-Mandeb strait, a critical chokepoint for energy flows, potentially closed.
These developments follow an announcement by Ansar Allah on July 20, which imposed a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia.
