Israel Halts Offensive Operations in Gaza Following Military Directive

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Al Jazeera reports that the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, citing a military source, stated that Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has ordered a limitation of offensive operations in the Gaza Strip. This decision was made after the Peace Council announced the necessity for Tel Aviv to cease its targeted operations.

The military source added that the occupation army has announced this measure is based on directives from political authorities.

Defense correspondent Doron Kadosh of Army Radio, quoting security sources, reported that the Southern Command has tightened the regulations for attacks against Gaza. Henceforth, any targeted operation will require direct approval from Eyal Zamir. Until early last week, Israeli commanders had the authority to issue permits for such attacks.

Field intelligence also indicates a noticeable decrease in the military activity of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip. Security sources stated that the occupation army conducted only one airstrike in the region over the past 48 hours.
