The Amal Movement has sharply criticized the Lebanese government’s persistent push for direct negotiations with Israel, deeming it a surrender agreement. The movement maintains that resistance is the sole option for defending Lebanon against the escalating actions of the Israeli regime.
Ali Khreiss, a senior Member of Parliament affiliated with the Amal Movement, stated during a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the Beirut port explosion that the movement has consistently called for full transparency and a just investigation into the incident. He emphasized the need to hold perpetrators accountable without bias or political maneuvering, ensuring justice for the martyrs and their families.
Khreiss further criticized the latest round of direct negotiations between the Lebanese government and the Israeli entity, which recently convened in Rome. He asserted that it has been unequivocally proven that the Israeli enemy disregards any agreements or understandings and does not adhere to ceasefires. Instead, the regime continues its daily attacks, massacres, destruction of homes, and targeting of civilians.
The Amal Movement official highlighted that these Zionist crimes are occurring amidst the suspicious silence of the international community and the global inability to compel the occupiers to implement international resolutions and cease their aggressions.
Ali Khreiss affirmed that Lebanon will uphold its national rights, and the will for resistance, inspired by the commitment to Imam Hussein’s path and the sacrifices of martyrs, will thwart all enemy efforts and plots to aggress against and dominate the country.
He concluded by urging the strengthening of national unity and adherence to the option of resistance in confronting occupation and defending national sovereignty. Khreiss added that the Lebanese army is prepared to deploy in all areas from which the Israeli enemy withdraws.
