Ukraine Secures Monthly Interceptor Missile Deliveries from United States, Zelensky Claims

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has claimed that Ukraine has reached an agreement with the United States for the monthly provision of interceptor missiles. The announcement was made during a joint press conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

Addressing the availability of interceptor missiles and defense systems, Zelensky stated, “Who has the missiles and interceptor systems? Those who produce them, primarily the United States. Can it help? We are working on it. The missiles will be provided to us every month. We have agreements.” He also acknowledged that the quantity of these missiles is not yet sufficient, noting that Ukraine currently possesses fewer interceptor missiles than in the previous year.

This development follows earlier reports from the Financial Times, which indicated that then-U.S. President Donald Trump had declined Zelensky’s request for additional Patriot missiles. Trump reportedly cited Washington’s own kebutuhan for these missiles to protect its assets and allies in the Middle East.

Zelensky has repeatedly voiced concerns about the shortage of interceptor missiles. He previously stated that several facilities in Kyiv were hit during an August 5th attack due to delays by Western partners in supplying these crucial air defense weapons.
