Turkish and Egyptian Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Stability
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan engaged in a telephone conversation on Sunday. The discussion focused on avenues to elevate the level of relations between Egypt and Turkey across various sectors, with both sides commending the recent rapid advancement of bilateral ties.
Both ministers emphasized their commitment to following up on the outcomes of the first high-level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting, which convened in Cairo in February 2026 under the leadership of the presidents of both nations. They exchanged views on the latest regional developments and the ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and manage crises.
Shoukry and Fidan underscored the importance of intensifying endeavors to achieve stability and reach lasting, comprehensive understandings aimed at bolstering regional security and stability. The conversation also encompassed regional security arrangements designed to reinforce peace and stability in the area.
The two top diplomats consulted on the developments concerning the Palestinian issue. They stressed the necessity of an immediate cessation of hostilities in the occupied territories and the implementation of a peace plan, including the withdrawal of the Israeli regime from Gaza. The Egyptian Foreign Minister and Fidan strongly condemned the repeated aggressions by the Israeli regime in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.
