Amal Movement Urges Lebanon to Confront Israeli Arson

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the central office of the Amal Movement has urged the Lebanese government to address the environmental catastrophe and fires stemming from actions attributed to Israel in the “Neha” to “Kfarhouna” heights and Western Bekaa. The movement called for official complaints to be lodged with relevant international authorities and institutions, for concerned embassies to be notified, and for the environmental aggressions and damages to be documented to hold the perpetrators accountable.

The Amal Movement highlighted that available data suggests the fires were ignited by a missile launch from Israeli drones in the region, constituting an assault on the environment, forest resources, and land. It stressed the need for a documented and urgent investigation, followed by legal action.

The movement expressed its opposition to any enemy policy aimed at turning Lebanese territories into “scorched earth,” emphasizing that such a policy leads to the destruction of forests, vegetation cover, environmental harm, and poses a threat to local communities.

The office stated that Lebanon’s environment must not be devastated, and the protection of land and forest resources is both a national and international responsibility.

According to the statement, today’s demand extends beyond merely extinguishing the fires; it includes pursuing the perpetrators, documenting the damages, and holding those responsible accountable. Concurrently, all necessary resources should be mobilized to prevent the spread of fires and preserve the region’s forest resources.

The office also extended its gratitude to the Lebanese Army, security forces, and civil defense for their extensive efforts in controlling the wildfires.
