Lebanon and Israel Agree on Potential International Role in Hezbollah Disarmament Verification

Lebanon and Israel have reportedly agreed on a list of four countries – Britain, Italy, Switzerland, and Indonesia – that could potentially be involved in verifying the disarmament of Hezbollah. This agreement emerged from recent US-mediated talks in Rome.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanon and Israel have reached an understanding regarding a potential international mechanism for verifying the disarmament of Hezbollah. Sources indicate that Britain, Italy, Switzerland, and Indonesia have been identified as probable participants in such a framework.

The agreement on this shortlist of nations was reportedly finalized during negotiations held last week in Rome, with the United States acting as a mediator. These discussions represent the latest phase in ongoing talks between Israel and Lebanon concerning the implementation of a June framework agreement.

This framework agreement had previously stipulated that Israel’s gradual withdrawal from Lebanon would be contingent upon the disarmament of Hezbollah.
