Saudi Arabia Orders Cabinet Reshuffle with Crown Prince Retaining Premiership

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabia‘s King has issued a series of royal decrees, including a cabinet reshuffle led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The current cabinet members are set to retain their positions.

The first decree mandates the continuation of the Council of Ministers, presided over by the Crown Prince, in line with the ongoing efforts of the government team tasked with executing the Vision 2030 programs. This move signals continuity in the kingdom’s strategic development plans.

The second decree involves the removal of Bandar Alkhorayef from his position as head of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority. He has been replaced by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the Minister of Energy, who will now also chair this authority. This body is responsible for enhancing the impact of government procurement and localizing the country’s industries.

The third decree pertains to the Capital Market Authority (stock exchange). Mohammed Al-Kuwaij has been dismissed from his role as its chairman, and Mazen Al-Sudairi has been appointed as the new chairman with the rank of minister. Al-Sudairi currently serves as an advisor to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and previously headed the research department at Al Rajhi Financial Group.
