Lebanese Prime Minister Condemns Israeli Aggression, Cites Civilian Casualties

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has voiced strong opposition to the recent aggressions by the Israeli regime against southern Lebanon, stating that the escalation of tensions is a dangerous development that undermines efforts to establish stability. He highlighted that the casualties in an Israeli attack on the Ansar region were not military targets but women and children.

Salam further elaborated that while Lebanon’s sovereignty dictates responsibility for any military infrastructure found within its territory, this does not grant Israel the right to attack civilians. He called on Tel Aviv to halt its actions, asserting that the security and right to life of the Lebanese people are non-negotiable.

This statement comes amidst a backdrop where the Lebanese government in Beirut is perceived by some as prioritizing the disarmament of resistance movements over taking practical measures to cease Israeli aggressions, which critics suggest may inadvertently pave the way for further Israeli occupation.
