France to Expel Two Iranian Diplomats Amid Tensions

France has announced its intention to expel two Iranian diplomats in the coming days, a move Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reciprocated by declaring two French diplomats unwelcome.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, France‘s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, stated via a message on the X platform that two Iranian diplomats will be expelled in the near future. This action is reportedly in support of the protests that occurred in December of last year.

In response to what it described as France’s interventionist move, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared two French diplomats at the French Embassy in Tehran as undesirable elements, prohibiting their entry into Iran. The ministry views France’s actions as interference in Iran’s internal affairs.

Earlier, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, had addressed Jean-Noël Barrot, urging countries like France to cease lecturing the world on human rights and international law, in response to French interference in Iranian matters.
