Israel Advances West Bank Settlement Expansion with New Housing Tender

The Israeli Ministry of Housing has issued a new tender for 1,234 housing units in the ‘E1’ area of the West Bank, a move that could prompt European sanctions against the Israeli regime.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, data published by the Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, indicates that the Israeli group “Peace Now” has announced that the occupying regime’s Ministry of Housing has released a tender for the construction of 1,234 housing units in the “E1” area as part of its ongoing settlement expansion plan in the West Bank.

The report highlights that the ministry has issued a separate tender for 1,234 units, distinct from a previous tender that encompassed a total of 3,401 housing units.

“Peace Now” emphasized that even partial construction within the “E1” project would bifurcate the northern and southern parts of the West Bank and isolate East Jerusalem from other regions.

In response to this development, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, quoting a Western diplomat, reported that the Israeli Ministry of Housing’s project to construct new residential units in the “E1” area east of Jerusalem could encourage European countries to impose sanctions on Israel.
