Ukraine Seeks Starlink Drone Use Authorization Amidst Defense Shortages

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukraine is reportedly seeking permission to equip its drones with Starlink satellite internet systems. The Financial Times, citing informed sources, has reported that Kyiv is pursuing this authorization from the U.S. to enable its drones, fitted with the Starlink system, for potential attacks on Russian territory.
In the context of a significant scarcity of air defense systems, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is reportedly attempting to secure approval from Starlink owner Elon Musk for this specific application of the technology. This move is seen as an effort to bolster Ukraine’s military operations.
However, the British publication also noted, quoting knowledgeable sources, that U.S. President Donald Trump has not supported this idea, and Elon Musk is reportedly disinclined to grant such permission.
