US Launches ‘Largest Ever’ Economic Assault on Iran, Treasury Secretary Claims

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bassent has declared that Washington is initiating the “largest economic attack” against Iran, asserting it is the most significant of its kind to date. Bassent stated that the objective of these measures is to cut off Iran’s vital economic arteries and intensify Tehran’s isolation.
The Treasury Secretary further warned that nations aligning their futures with Tehran would face restrictions on their paths to sustained prosperity. Bassent reiterated that the actions are designed to sever any economic lifeline supporting the Iranian regime’s survival.
He added that any military action targeting U.S. forces or countries in the Persian Gulf region would be met with a swift and decisive response from President Trump. These confrontational remarks from the U.S. Treasury Secretary come as Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, posted on social media that if the economic war continues, not a single drop of oil will be exported, neither through the Strait of Hormuz nor from any part of the Persian Gulf.
Rezaei further stated that Iran will consider any participation or support from any country in the U.S. economic war against the Iranian people as an act of war.
