Russia Claims Downing 148 Aerial Targets Over Past Night

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Ministry of Defense stated that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 148 aerial targets over Russian territories, including Rostov, Krasnodar, Crimea, and the Azov and Black Seas, during the past night. This report is based on data published by Mehr News Agency, citing RIA Novosti.
Despite ongoing efforts to broker peace between Moscow and Kyiv, the conflict between the two nations persists. Ukraine has intensified its drone attacks targeting sensitive sites and the Russian capital in recent months.
Sergei Sobyanin, the Mayor of Moscow, revealed on Saturday that the number of drones heading towards the Moscow region has surpassed 2,500 since the morning of August 15th. He wrote in a message: “Between 8:30 AM Moscow time (5:30 AM GMT) on August 15 and 8:30 AM Moscow time (5:30 AM GMT) on August 22, 2,652 drones flew towards the Moscow region. The majority were neutralized by air defenses in the distant suburbs.” The mayor of the Russian capital added, “493 drones were destroyed near Moscow.”
