Egypt Declares Palestinian Displacement to Sinai a Red Line, Reaffirms Peace Treaty with Israel

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stated in an exclusive interview with Sky News that the Hamas movement and Palestinian factions have agreed to hand over all their heavy and light weapons. Shoukry underscored Cairo’s rejection of any efforts to displace Palestinians into the Sinai region.

During the interview, the Egyptian Foreign Minister addressed several prominent regional issues, including Gaza, Sudan, Iran, the security of Nile water resources, and Egypt’s stance on the peace treaty with the Israeli regime. He asserted that displacing Palestinians into the Sinai Peninsula is a red line for Egypt and that such an action would mean the elimination of the Palestinian cause. Cairo remains steadfast in its position against the displacement of Palestinians from their lands.

Regarding the Sudan file, Shoukry stressed that Egypt will not permit the division of Sudan and considers the preservation of the country’s unity and territorial integrity a red line. Concerning Egypt’s water security, the Foreign Minister stated that any action leading to the disruption of the Nile’s water flow would grant Cairo the right to self-defense under international law.

On the Iran file, Shoukry emphasized that Cairo is working towards a peaceful resolution and the return of Iran to the negotiating table. He also commented on Egyptian-Israeli relations, stating that Egypt remains committed to its peace treaty with Israel.
