Yemeni Forces Consolidate Control Over Bab al-Mandab Strait Amidst West Coast Advances

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yemeni forces are continuing their advance along the West Coast, with reports indicating the Ansarallah fighters have taken control of Bab al-Mandab. Al-Mayadeen TV’s correspondent in Sana’a reported that Yemeni armed forces have reached the islands of Greater Hanish and Lesser Hanish in the vicinity of Bab al-Mandab as part of their ongoing progress in the West Coast regions.

According to media sources, after the conclusion of clashes, Yemeni forces also gained full control of Zuhar Island, taking more than 1,500 Saudi mercenaries prisoner. This advance occurs as Hizam Al-Asad, a member of the Ansarallah political bureau, stated on his personal X account that in response to escalating tensions, any Saudi enemy attack on infrastructure, airports, or ports in Al-Mukha, Dhubab, Mayyun, and other areas of Yemen will be met with reciprocal action.

In the latest field developments, Reuters, quoting two sources from the Saudi-affiliated Yemeni government, reported that Saudi-backed Yemeni forces have withdrawn from Perim Island in the Bab al-Mandab strait. A local official also stated that Yemeni armed forces have taken control of Mayyun Island, completing their seizure of the Bab al-Mandab strait. Reuters, citing informed sources, also reported that Yemeni armed forces have reached the coastal city of Dhubab in the Bab al-Mandab strait.

Al-Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that the situation in Al-Mukha, which is under the full control of the Yemeni army, has returned to normal with the resumption of government institutional activities. Al-Etijah TV’s correspondent announced that Yemeni armed forces will transfer enemy Saudi mercenary prisoners and their weapons to Sana’a in the coming hours.

Meanwhile, Arab sources announced that Saudi enemy fighter jets bombed Al-Mukha airport in Taiz province on the West Coast of Yemen twice. The International Organization for Migration announced that at least 46,000 people have been displaced due to recent clashes in the southwestern regions of Yemen. Yunews also published images, citing some Yemeni media outlets, of Yemeni armed forces attacking positions of Saudi-affiliated mercenaries in the Ras Al-Arah area of Lahij province with ballistic missiles.
