Lebanese President Affirms No New Negotiations with Israel

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, accompanied by the country’s Army Commander, made an unannounced visit to the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh. The visit was reported by the Mehr News Agency, citing Al Mayadeen.
During his visit, President Aoun asserted, “Under current circumstances, no new negotiations are being held with Israel.” He further stated, “The withdrawal of Israel, the return of prisoners and displaced persons, and the reconstruction of the country are national principles to which we are committed.”
President Aoun explained the purpose of his visit to Nabatieh with security and military officials, saying, “We are with you and strive to provide the necessary services to ensure your continued presence here and to guarantee your security.”
