North Korea Denounces US-South Korea Agreement on WMD Response

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Ministry of National Defense of North Korea has vehemently denounced an agreement reached between the United States and South Korea concerning the augmentation of information exchange and joint training for coordinated responses to potential weapons of mass destruction (WMD) assaults. The ministry characterized the pact as an “explicit declaration of confrontation.”

The North Korean defense ministry asserted that the accord is predicated on the possibility of employing nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) during critical situations on the Korean Peninsula, thereby escalating the peril of WMD utilization in the region.

Earlier, the United States and South Korea had committed to reinforcing the exchange of intelligence and conducting joint training exercises designed to counter alleged threats emanating from North Korea’s WMD capabilities. Officials from both nations had engaged in discussions on September 10 regarding strategies to bolster their combined operational prowess in confronting such perceived threats.
