Lavrov: US Talks Yield No Tangible Results, West Prepares for Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced on Thursday that Russia finds itself once again at the forefront of global changes. Speaking at the “International Movement of Russophiles” congress, Lavrov highlighted Russia’s position against Western silence regarding Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s praise for remnants of Nazism, describing this approach as diabolical.
Lavrov asserted that Western countries are actively preparing for a potential conflict with Russia, promoting a narrative of a Russian threat. He also pointed to an extensive propaganda campaign against Russia ahead of the upcoming Duma elections. The minister observed that representatives from the United States show a greater inclination for dialogue with Russia compared to their European counterparts, a sentiment that has led many nations to approach agreements with Western governments cautiously.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has emerged as a cornerstone of security and sustainable development in Eurasia, according to the report. Lavrov also indicated that Russia and the United States maintain constant contact, including direct communication between himself and his American counterpart, as well as with those overseeing the Ukraine conflict, such as Jared Kushner and others. However, he expressed that these discussions have not yielded any tangible results in revitalizing bilateral relations and do not anticipate such outcomes in the near future.
The foreign minister further criticized the West’s recognition of Kosovo without a vote, contrasting it with their refusal to recognize the referendum in Crimea.
