The incident occurs amid reports from Al Mayadeen television network, which cited a high-ranking special source stating that Riyadh has requested Oman to urge Ansarullah to establish a two-week ceasefire. The proposed truce would facilitate discussions aimed at resolving the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

According to this source, Saudi Arabia claims that an agreement on the Yemeni humanitarian file will be announced during the ceasefire period.
