US Approves Potential Sale of 48 F-35 Fighter Jets to Saudi Arabia

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States Department of State has indicated its approval for a potential sale of F-35 Lightning II fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, with an estimated value of around $24.3 billion. This potential transaction includes 48 fighter jets and 49 engines, along with associated communication equipment, spare parts, and other support items, as detailed in a statement from the department.

The announcement of this potential arms sale to Saudi Arabia occurs at a time when Israeli media, citing Hebrew Channel 12, have reported significant concerns in Tel Aviv regarding Saudi Arabia’s effectiveness in combating Houthi forces. In addition to Israel, France has also voiced its apprehension regarding attacks by Yemeni forces on Saudi Arabia, as stated by a spokesperson for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
