North Korea Launches Ballistic Missile Off Eastern Coast

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, North Korea launched a ballistic missile from its eastern coast into the sea on Sunday, an action that has been confirmed by South Korea and Japan. South Korea’s military announced that Pyongyang fired at least one projectile towards the East Sea. Yonhap News Agency, quoting the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean military, reported that the entity identified the missile launch but did not provide further details regarding the type of missile, its flight path, or the distance covered. Japan also stated that the projectile is estimated to have fallen outside its exclusive economic zone, according to Kyodo News Agency. This launch occurred just days after North Korea condemned a US-led naval drill that involved South Korea and Japan. The exercise took place near Guam in the Pacific Ocean from August 29 to September 10. Pyongyang has not yet responded to reports concerning the new launch.
