North Korea Fires Second Missile Hours After Initial Launch, Japan Reports

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Japan’s Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday evening local time that North Korea had launched its second missile. This action followed a few hours after Pyongyang fired a missile that appeared to be a short-range ballistic type.

Japan’s Coast Guard urged vessels to monitor for further information regarding these launches and to report any observed falling objects without approaching them.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean military also separately announced that North Korea had fired a projectile towards the East Sea, also known as the Sea of Japan.

Japanese government sources indicated that the projectile likely fell outside of Japan’s exclusive economic zone.

According to follow-up reports, the South Korean military later announced that two short-range ballistic missiles were launched approximately three hours apart from the Wonsan area. The first missile traveled about 450 kilometers, and the second missile flew over 600 kilometers.
